Garissa County is an administrative County in the former North Eastern Province of Kenya. Its capital and largest urban area is Garissa. It borders Somalia to the East, Wajir County and Isiolo County to the North, Tana River County to the West and Lamu County to the South. It has seven administrative sub-counties, Balambala, Dadaab, Fafi, Garissa, Hulugho, Ijara and Lagdera. According to the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census the population is 841,353 with a population density of 19/km2
