Makueni

Makueni County (formerly Makueni District) is a county in the former Eastern Province of Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Wote. It borders Machakos to the North, Kitui to the East, Taita Taveta to the South and Kajiado to the West. It has six administrative sub-counties: Makueni, Kaiti, Kilome, Kibwezi East, Kibwezi West, Nzaui, Kathonzweni, Mbooni East, and Mbooni West. According to the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census the population is 987,653 with a population density of 120/km2
