Department of Health Services—Mombasa County today announced that their County Emergency Medical Care Plan was finally in place! This milestone follows the plan’s validation by various stakeholders and launch, ensuring that residents will have access to the highest standards of emergency medical care as envisioned in the Kenya Emergency Medical Care (EMC) Policy 2020-2030.

The Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation (EMKF) and Malteser International supported the development of this comprehensive plan. This collaboration aims to establish a functional emergency healthcare system, paving the way for achieving Universal Healthcare Coverage in Kenya. The Mombasa County Emergency Medical Care Plan aligns perfectly with the goals outlined in the Kenya EMC Policy, which strives to create a reliable and efficient emergency medical care system across the country.
