In January 2024, the Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation, in collaboration with the County Government of Bungoma, launched a transformative initiative to revitalize the Emergency Department at Bungoma County Referral Hospital. Thanks to the generous support of the Rotary Clubs of Balwyn, Taree, and Gloucester, alongside the DAK Foundation, this ‘Adopt-an-ED’ project has brought new life to emergency healthcare services at the hospital. With upgraded infrastructure, state-of-the-art medical equipment, and intensive training for healthcare providers, the project has set a new benchmark for emergency medical care, enhancing the quality of healthcare and improving outcomes for the community.
